Interview with Joe Tani

Operations Manager - Town of Newtown

Newtown, Connecticut

June 15, 2001

Joe Tani, Operations Manager of the Town of Newtown, Connecticut, was so impressed with the LeeBoy training he received for his 8000 Conveyer Paver that he wrote letters to his dealer, R. W. Thompson, and to LeeBoy. Scott Goff, a LeeBoy representative, spent two days with Tani and his men, going over the paver and training them on how to use it. Tani explains, "The man was excellent. He was excellent. He did a very thorough job." Tani also adds that "Goff worked hard the days he was here."

The Town of Newtown purchased an 8000 paver just over a year and is very happy with it. Tani compared different pavers of the same size of the LeeBoy 8000. The demonstration of the paver by the dealer, plus the competence of the R.W. Thompson and LeeBoy representatives, won him over. Tani adds, "They answered all of our questions. The 8000 is exactly what we were looking for."

Maintaining town roads is the prime objective for operations at the Town of Newtown. With the 8000 Conveyer Paver, the job of maintaining these roads becomes easier, thus quicker for Tani and his crew. About the paver, Tani explains, "It’s an easy machine to operate." No doubt the quality engineering of the machine, coupled with the training provided for the crew, has made life easier for the Town of Newtown.
