Almost 100 driveways-that’s what Gene Simmons of AFS Construction says they do every month for the eight months of the year that they are in business. To get that kind of volume, he uses a LeeBoy 8000 Conveyer Paver. "It’s the most productive machine you can have on residential and small commercial jobs," says Simmons. "The LeeBoy allows us to be efficient."

The AFS crew averages six to seven driveways a day while his competitors do only two to three driveways a day. Simmons adds, "We do about 150 to 160 tons of asphalt a day on average."

Simmons has owned his LeeBoy 8000 Conveyor Paver for about two years now. He bought it from R. W. Thompson, the LeeBoy dealer in Connecticut. He’s happy to say that it "gets me out of a jam every day." That’s a good thing, considering his days are 16 to 18 hours long. When asked what he does during the other four months of the year, he says, "Go to the Islands." Sounds like his hard work is well rewarded.
