 Interview with Gregory W. Huffman
Road Superintendent
Sylvania Township
Sylvania, Ohio
August 6, 2001

Gregory W. Huffman needed a medium-sized paver for his many asphalt overlay applications in Sylvania Township, Ohio. His group works on any application that is directed by the township trustees. Applications include parking lots, roadways, and even playgrounds. Requests for his services come for the park board, school board, and county engineers.

To satisfy this need for a medium paver, Huffman chose a LeeBoy 8500. Choosing the LeeBoy was easy. He says, "I heard good things, positive comments concerning the LeeBoy paver from other public works managers." He evaluated a similar LeeBoy paver from the City of Sylvania. He adds, " They had positive comments about the LeeBoy and the service from McLean." Huffman purchased his 8500 paver from Harrison W. Bolyard at the Columbus office of the McLean Company. In addition to the good service from LeeBoy and McLean, Huffman got a day of training from a LeeBoy representative and a McLean mechanic.

Huffman is eager to mention that the LeeBoy is more efficient than the township’s previous machine. Of the LeeBoy he says, "I’m glad to see a manufacturer who recognizes the need for medium duty asphalt pavers for municipalities. These pavers allow the public works managers to serve their communities in a much more efficient manner."
