“Super Machine”
When the City of New Braunfels purchased a new paver, they didn’t just take the lowest bid. Street Department Inspector J.R. Romines looked at spec sheets, checked prices, called on four other paver manufacturers, and got referrals before deciding to buy a LeeBoy 8000 paver. According to Romines, “I got several good out-of-state referrals. I have not heard anything bad about LeeBoy.” Fast service, quick availability of parts, and personal training, which they received, were also major considerations for their purchase.
The City of New Braunfels appreciates its new paver for the following reasons:
-
Low noise level
-
Comfort of operating
-
Screed width and size
-
Access to hoppers for easy cleaning
-
All-around easy operation
-
Doing more with fewer workers in less time
The City’s old machine took a crew of 6 to 7 to run, plus take care of all the hand work. Now, according to Romines, he only needs three workers to run the 8000 paver. He adds, “In cul-de-sacs, it’s very maneuverable, much faster, easy, and required less hand work. Any paver knows how hard cul-de-sacs can be.”
Says Romines, “I would recommend the 8000 paver to anyone – even using them on large jobs. The LeeBoy would handle the job as long as the crews can keep the trucks coming.”
